One of the things I love about my house is that we have so many mature trees in our neighborhood. The best part about that is that almost none of them are on our property, requiring ME to have to trim them and rake leafs. However, our backyard fence line borders a house that has a row of pretty big trees that provide all kinds of privacy between the properties. That is fantastic! This spring the branches were hanging down into our yard pretty low, bringing me to have to trim them up. The branches were too thick for me to use a handsaw so I shopped around to find a good deal on something with a little more punch. I decided on a Ryobi chainsaw/pole saw combination that has really worked out well!

There were several branches that were pretty high up and would have required me to haul a ladder to the backyard, set it up on uneven ground and climb up, carrying a spinning blade of death and carnage, which didn’t sound like fun to me. Using the pole saw was a breeze and it was every bit powerful enough to cut through branches that were 3 to 4 inches thick. After all branches were cut down, I used the pruning saw to cut them into smaller more manageable sizes for firewood and some to be tied up with twine and refuse bags. Having 2 saws also allowed for 2 of us to be cutting at the same time, which can really speed things up. If you are going to use both at the same time, you will need an additional battery as the package only comes with one. All of my power tools are Ryobi, so it was no problem to grab an extra for the job. Both of these tools had plenty of power to cut through all of the branches I had for about 45 minutes of cutting without any signs of slowing down.

I would definitely recommend the Ryobi Pole Saw and Pruning Saw combination for anyone that is in the market for a battery powered chainsaw. It was a great addition to my tool collection and will get plenty of use around our house for many years to come.
